18 months

For a sneak peak at Lilah 18 month photos by KDB Photos, click here

Lilah's 18 month stats:
Height - 33.5 inches (93rd percentile)
Weight - 24 lbs (43rd percentile)
Head- 50th percentile...yep, didn't write it down :)

so...what's the little monkey up to these days?

Talking / Communicating-
This past week, Lilah has really started saying words. Some new ones: keys, eat, doggie, please, cheese (kind of sound the same, but that's ok), auntie...and a lot of just repeating the same number of syllables, like if you ask her to say thank you she will say da-dee or moo-mee...I kind of love it! She is really good at her lion roar and cow moo as well as continuing to point out body parts. She still does a lot of pointing and mmmm'ing, but her words are becoming more and more!

Eating-
Still a pretty picky eater. She loves her fruit, yogurt, toaster strudel (egg & sausage), fruit snacks and cheese. Meat and veggies are a little tougher to get in. Any suggestions?

Activities-
Lilah rarely sits still. She loves to color/scribble, play with duplos, dance, jump, play with keys (see photo below), watch and dance with the Wiggles, read, be tickled, sing songs...oh and getting into anything and everything she shouldn't! She also LOVES her blankie, airplanes, the moon and babies (which is pretty much anyone shorter than her).

Lilah does not like exam rooms, as I assume all 18 month old children. After the appointment, both mom and Lilah stopped for a well deserved ice cream treat :)

So much happier after ice cream!

Keys! She runs around to all the doors and tries to unlock them.

So there you have it.

Stinky Feet!

Lilah loves when you tell her she has stinky feet. She immediately shoves her toes to her nose and waits for you to pull them away....this is followed by hysterical laughter.

And today someone is 18 months old. In typical Kristin fashion I can only remember a few of the stats (and my cheat sheet is in the car). Stay tuned...

Baby Smash!

We were desperate!

Lilah has recently become obsessed with the computer. If she notices the door to the office open, she bolts in and leaps on to the chair. If someone is on the computer, she grabs their arm and tries to pull them off the chair so SHE can bang on the keyboard. A neighbor of ours mentioned the program Baby Smash. After countless setting on our computer have been changed (some still not back to normal :)) we were willing to try just about anything!

And...this baby smash thing is pretty much amazing! Lilah LOVES it! As she bangs away letters, shapes, colors, music and giggles keep her entertained. You can see Lilah in action below. And to all of you parents out there with toddlers...download this today!

Time for a Trim!

Lilah's first haircut started out a little rough. We headed to Kids Hair this morning and when we set Lilah in the chair I think you could hear her scream for miles! I ended up having her sit on my lap...and good thing there was a dvd playing!

If you look close you can still see a little tear...

The finished product. Maybe someday her semi-bald spot will grow in. I do love my mullet baby though :)

That gettin-your-haircut-business is a lot of work!

In the Doghouse

Lately, Lilah has been very interested in small spaces, one of them being the dog kennel. She crawls inside and is as happy as can be. Crazy girl!!

She also was not shy in telling me her thoughts on the texture of a nectarine...

But this little miss sure makes me smile.
(As I posted this next picture, I am thinking it is maybe time for a haircut!)

Ryan David

Meet my newest cousin, Ryan David. I can honestly say I have been waiting for this cousin for 28 years (next Wednesday). He is my first and only cousin on my mom's side of the family....and an addition to my whopping 5 cousins on my dad's side. Needless to say, I cannot wait to spoil this little guy. I am also thrilled that Lilah FINALLY has a family playmate!

Here he is...all 7lbs 6oz of him...
