Take Your Daughter to Work Day....care

Lilah's daycare provider had a very well deserved day off yesterday. For reasons such as this, my employer offers back-up daycare through Bright Horizons for super cheap!! I took advantage of this and brought the little munchkin downtown. She had a blast! Busses, trucks, cars, people....so many new things to see and explore. Not to mention post-it notes, stickies, pens, markers....you know, all of that really cool office stuff... :) Here she is, working hard before she went to 'school'.

Back to the Blog...

Things have been a little crazy around our house lately. We recently put our house on the market, which is stressful on its own....add in two dogs and a toddler, you get my point. I AM enjoying a (mostly) clutter free house. so...what have we been up to??

In March, Lilah and I went to the Kalahari in Wisconsin Dells. Someone (okay maybe both of us) had a blast! Kara had a cheer competition there. Her last as a coach for the Southwest All Stars. Lilah handled the drive really well, and slept pretty much the whole way home. SUCCESSFUL trip indeed!

We enjoyed the few nice days we have had so far with lots of puddle jumping, airplane watching, moon finding, neighborhood walking, stick collecting.....anything OUTSIDE!!

Oh yeah....and we made our first trip to izzy's this season. (we may have stopped there a time or two in the winter...it is just that good...chubby bunny and norwegian chai all the way!!) Lilah liked the cookies and cream!

Lilah also likes stickers. Can you tell??

I have MANY more photos waiting for blog posts. :) until next time...

Never a Dull Moment...

Lilah is like a sponge these days. She amazes me with what she remembers. She is also starting to follow direction (when she wants to), and she loves to HELP!! If you tell her she is helping you, there is hmmmmm about an 80% chance she will do it! ....much better chance than if you just ask her!

She is working on animal noises...

...and other various tricks. :)

Ha! She has been spending a lot of time with daddy! ;) LOVE HER!

Here are a few more recent photos...

I had left this half eaten banana on the table after dinner....she stole it off the table! So much more fun to eat with the peel on!

18 months

For a sneak peak at Lilah 18 month photos by KDB Photos, click here

Lilah's 18 month stats:
Height - 33.5 inches (93rd percentile)
Weight - 24 lbs (43rd percentile)
Head- 50th percentile...yep, didn't write it down :)

so...what's the little monkey up to these days?

Talking / Communicating-
This past week, Lilah has really started saying words. Some new ones: keys, eat, doggie, please, cheese (kind of sound the same, but that's ok), auntie...and a lot of just repeating the same number of syllables, like if you ask her to say thank you she will say da-dee or moo-mee...I kind of love it! She is really good at her lion roar and cow moo as well as continuing to point out body parts. She still does a lot of pointing and mmmm'ing, but her words are becoming more and more!

Eating-
Still a pretty picky eater. She loves her fruit, yogurt, toaster strudel (egg & sausage), fruit snacks and cheese. Meat and veggies are a little tougher to get in. Any suggestions?

Activities-
Lilah rarely sits still. She loves to color/scribble, play with duplos, dance, jump, play with keys (see photo below), watch and dance with the Wiggles, read, be tickled, sing songs...oh and getting into anything and everything she shouldn't! She also LOVES her blankie, airplanes, the moon and babies (which is pretty much anyone shorter than her).

Lilah does not like exam rooms, as I assume all 18 month old children. After the appointment, both mom and Lilah stopped for a well deserved ice cream treat :)

So much happier after ice cream!

Keys! She runs around to all the doors and tries to unlock them.

So there you have it.

Stinky Feet!

Lilah loves when you tell her she has stinky feet. She immediately shoves her toes to her nose and waits for you to pull them away....this is followed by hysterical laughter.

And today someone is 18 months old. In typical Kristin fashion I can only remember a few of the stats (and my cheat sheet is in the car). Stay tuned...
